Events & Partnerships

Nigeria Property Technology Conference (NIPROTECH2019)

Last year in April, we were invited to the NIPROTECH conference. At the conference, GatePass handled the registration of delegates and ran a demo of our solution. Our CEO, Muyideen Dosumu, also spoke on PropTech in the Era of the Customer and was on the Policy & Regulatory Framework panel.

Panthers Flag Football Partnership

There is no greater unifying tool across races, faith, income groups and age groups than sports. The impact of sports on the world, so far, is nothing short of fascinating.
At GatePass, openness, transparency and good governance are core parts of our mission to improve communities. We believe we can make communities better by facilitating engagement, inclusiveness, and empowerment among community members. On the 25th of April, we announced our partnership with the Panthers Flag Football Team of the Shit Suke Flag Football League.

Africa FinTech Foundry (AFFDisrupt2019 — Digital Gold Rush)

In May, we participated in the Africa FinTech Foundry Startup challenge. We made it to the Top 10, which secured us a spot to exhibit at the AFFDisrupt2019.
The event had about 150,000 delegates present and we had
more than 700 attendees at our booth.

Property Pro African Real Estate Conference and Awards (AFRECA’19)

It was a moment of recognition when our CEO, Muyideen Dosumu was invited to moderate the Market Intelligence panel discussion at the African Real Estate Conference and Awards, which took place in August 2019.

NESG 25 Start-up Competition October

In October, we were selected as one of the top 10 start-ups in Nigeria out of a pool of 789 candidates for the NESG 25 start-up competition. Before the finals, we spent a week at a boot camp organised by Sterling Bank in partnership with NESG and GreenHouse Labs. We cherished and enjoyed every moment at the competition as it was great exposure for us and gave rise to a lot of networking opportunities.

Aspirations For 2020

2019 was a major learning phase for us at GatePass — a lot of bug fixes, teething issues and lessons learned. This year, we are dedicated to improving the value we provide. We aim to take a hands-on role in our active communities. For us, it’s beyond just being present in your community, we are keen on delivering value to individuals in these communities. We believe that if we all put our hands together, we will be able to build sustainable communities with more engaged and empowered residents.

We are also pleased to inform you that we will be releasing new versions of the GatePass apps in Q1. This upgrade is based on your feedback, our observations and lessons learned so far.

On a personal note, in 2019, I made the transition from working a 9–5 at KPMG to working full-time at GatePass. This would not have been possible without your support and encouragement. From us at GatePass to everyone who has been a part of this journey, thank you. Your support and feedback have brought us this far.

Let’s change the way we experience our communities together with GatePass: the keys to your community.

Best,

Muyideen Dosumu
